If you're in to opera...

This year our opera students will be learning a very abbreviated version of The Mikado, a Gilbert and Sullivan classic comic operetta. This whimsical tale is full of silly names, improbable plot twists, and crazy hijinks--making it a perfect piece for our opera workshop! You'll have a blast!

Visit our website to download the music and begin learning your parts BEFORE camp. :D

Go WEST, Young Man!

That's right!  You heard correctly!  Music camp will be held at
WEST MINICO MIDDLE SCHOOL
this year!!  (and since it's a twin to East Middle School where we held camp last year, we shouldn't have much trouble finding our way around!)

** A big and heartfelt thank you to the Minidoka County School District for being such a wonderful and supportive booster of our camp!  We LOVE you!!

A New Fundraising Opportunity is Coming Your Way...

If you, or someone you know, is interested in attending music camp this year, but think you can't raise enough money by then.... NEVER FEAR! We've got a great fundraising opportunity coming up next month!

Rise Up and Sing is sponsoring a professional Broadway style review "Seasons of Love" at the Historic Wilson Theater in Rupert! The show is Friday, April 14, but ticket sales will begin mid-March.

You're invited to sell tickets to your friends, neighbors, and family. HALF of your ticket sales will go directly toward paying your (or someone of your choosing's) tuition to camp this summer!! Seriously... that's a lotta dough! Tickets will be $10/each so start talking to people now.

If you're interested in this great fundraising opportunity leave us a comment. And pass this along your friends. ;)

Mary Poppins YouTube Video!!

Check out this super fun video of Mary Poppins from last year's music camp!

Got $$$ ?!

Hey campers!

If you'd like to attend the 9th Annual Rise Up and Sing vocal summer music camp, but think you can't afford it -- there are LOTS of ways to EARN the $$$ you need.  Below are just a few ideas to get you started.  The key is to start early!  Put a little away every week and before you know it you're there!

1.  Apply for a music camp scholarship.  Click here for the application.

2.  Apply for outside scholarships.  One such scholarship that is available locally is the Don Royster Scholarship.

3.  Ask friends and family to sponsor you.  You might offer your services (babysitting, yardwork, etc.) in exchange for a $20 donation to your music camp fund.

4.  Have a bake sale, or make a craft you're good at and sell it around the community.

5.  Contact your parents' employers and ask if they'd be willing to sponsor you ... lots of businesses are generous when it comes to the education of our youth.

** If you're a person who has the desire to affect children's lives in a positive way, financial donations are much appreciated.  All donations go directly to scholarships for campers.  Contact Leslie at (208)532-4626.

Did You Know...?

1 You can come to music camp for FREE?! Just get 5 friends to register for camp -- and your tuition is on us!

2 You can save money by registering EARLY for music camp? Earn a full $20 per person off the regular registration price if you register and pay by June 1, 2013!

3 If you are coming from out of town, we have host families available for $65/week per camper! Host families will provide meals, transportation to and from camp, and a bed.

4 Scholarships are available if you need some help on tuition $$. Just complete the application and required essay/letter -- then be sure it is postmarked by June 6, 2013. All applicants who meet the deadline will be considered, and many will be awarded partial scholarships. Don't miss your chance!

6 If you live in the Mini-Cassia area and you are willing to house a camper who is visiting from out of town, you will receive a discount on your tuition!

7 Late registration is available until July 12, 2013 -- but class choices will be limited and you may not get a t-shirt!! It's always best to REGISTER EARLY -- but "better late than never" are words we live by!
